British producer/director Derek Goodall is President of Goodwood Productions, based in Los Angeles.
He has 15 years UK network TV experience, primarily in documentaries and factual programs, and has filmed in 9 countries.
He is also a very accomplished live director – both studio and outside broadcast – Avid editor and cameraman.
He also now has an FAA commercial drone pilot licence.
Network credits include CBS and NBC in the US and ITV and Channel 4 in the UK.
Corporate clients include Redken 5th Avenue, Lockheed Martin and Williams Formula One motor racing team.
Our work for long-time client GTS Productions of Aspen CO continued with the documentary “Mission Peace” aimed at film festivals and an “Oscar” run. Derek shot all the master interviews and was lead editor.
Another recent client is Phoenix AZ based Southwest Products who manufacture Fuel and Lube trucks primarily for the construction and mining industries. We made a sales video for their biggest truck and a timelapse showing it being built.
We continue producing promotion videos (about 25 so far!) for GAR Bennett, a major Agriculture Retailer and Services company, based near Fresno, CA.
Derek is the live director for the annual Fight Night fundraiser for the Marconi Foundation for Kids, one of the biggest events in Orange County, and produces all the video material for the show and, for the last 19 years, all video production for the Marconi Automotive Museum.
We also produced 6 annual fund-raising video for Seattle’s Community Lunch non-profit, who provide meals for the homeless
Derek worked regularly (2014-15) as field producer/shooter for nationally syndicated show The Doctors (CBS/Stage 29 Productions), including same-day edits, and also worked (Sept 2014) as a segment director for Dr Phil.
Derek also worked for NBC Sports as a field producer at the 2012 LA Auto Show and for Letterman (CBS) with the Foo Fighters from the 2012 Grammies.
We worked extensively for the Brunei Royal Family producing TV live event coverage (6-8 camera) of large-scale private sporting events there including polo matches with Prince Charles for the Sultan’s 50th birthday, soccer games and documentary coverage of other Royal activities including concerts with Michael Jackson.
